Visiting tea markets, small farms, specialty tea companies and tea brokers, we find the finest varieties of white, green, oolong, black and Pu-erh tea.WHITE PEONY - Select, early-pick organically grown leaves and silver buds offer nuanced tastes and spring's freshness. We chose to mill the leaves minimally to preserve the integrity of the leaf and better preserve its sweet, natural flavors. The leaves will steep to a clean, straw-colored liquor, offering subtle notes of melon and herbs. White Peony is wonderful as an afternoon tea and always great with food or sweets.

• White Peony: Grown in the Fuding County, the birthplace of a white tea, this is perhaps the most natural of China's teas. Our lot comes out in late April. Given the farm elevation and the harvesting period for organic teas this lot offers a pleasing mix of silver buds, shades of greens and shades of brown leaf.
• Artisanal Craftsmanship: Hand-harvested in early spring and minimally milled to preserve the integrity of the tender leaves and silver buds, each cup celebrates the artisty and dedication of Silk Road Tea's sourcing journey.

White Peony steeps to a clear, straw-like color and a stronger body than the better known varietal - Silver Needle.

• Mindful Steeping: For optimal flavor, steep below boiling temperature (185-195°F) for 2-3 minutes, allowing the leaves to yield multiple infusions.
